Counseling and psychotherapeutic services at Congruence.
Congruence Counseling & Psychology, LLC offers individual, couples, and group therapy for clients seeking to improve their lives and relationships with others. Dr. Freeman-Coppadge practices evidence-based treatments, rooted in a strong sense of social justice, multicultural competence, and cultural humility. The costs of treatment are competitive with rates offered by other psychotherapists in the eastern Sussex County of DE and the greater Baltimore-Annapolis metro areas.
Therapy Offered
Individual Therapy
Individual therapy is the most common form of psychotherapy. Sessions are designed to help you improve your ability to explore your identities, cope with life stressors, and/or heal from past wounds. Adults of all ages, orientations, genders, races/ethnicities, abilities, religious/spiritual/non-religious backgrounds, cultures, and statuses are welcome! Sessions are generally weekly, but can eventually progress to meeting once every other week or every few weeks once sufficient progress has been made.
Couples Therapy
Couples therapy is designed to improve romantic, emotional, and sexual health between partners. Partners need not be married, nor even a “couple.” The sessions are typically aimed at helping partners improve their communication skills, enhance their love and intimacy for each other other, and disrupt unhelpful interpersonal dynamics in the relationship.
Group Therapy
Group therapy is designed to help you learn more about yourself and your identities, improve your coping skills, find support, and/or learn better ways to be in relationships with others. It is also generally more affordable than individual therapy, but with similar (if not enhanced) benefits. The number of participants for group therapy range from 4-10 people. Congruence does not currently offer any groups, but will soon be offering a weekly LGBTQ+ Support Group for sexual and gender minorities hoping to find support in dealing with issues like coming out, exploring sexual/gender identity, and reconciling conflicts between sexual/gender identity and other salient identities (religion/spirituality, race/ethnicity, family, culture, ability status, etc.). Additional groups will be offered based upon need and demand.
